This Flying Trapeze class will let you safely experience the exhilaration of this extraordinary circus art, as seen on stage in the New York Times Critic’s Pick Water for Elephants.
After the class, Audience Rewards members will then have the opportunity to meet an acrobat from the show and ask questions about what it is like to perform some of these tricks on a Broadway stage.

5,000 ShowPoints per person
Only 10 spots available. Must be 10 years of age or older to attend. By attending this experience you agree to all restrictions stipulated by the Trapeze School New York. Each member in attendance will need to sign a waiver, and those under the age of 18 require a parent or guardian's signature. The Choose to Fly and Meet an Acrobatic Cast Member from Water for Elephants experience will take place at Pier 40 (353 West Street, New York, NY 10014) with a backup location pending rain: 467 Marcy Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11206, from 11 AM–1 PM. Participants should arrive wearing trapeze-appropriate clothing and shoes. Trapeze-appropriate clothing is snug-fitting athletic clothing. Yoga/running pants, tights, or leggings that cover the back of the knees will protect your skin during the knee hang trick. The safety belt will be worn around your waist, so wear a regular-length (vs. crop or cutoff) T-shirt or athletic top. Loose, baggy clothing will get in your way and things like hard hair clips and jewelry cannot be worn while flying. Socks that protect the toes are required, so socks that separate the toes or slip off your feet easily are not permitted. Throughout the session, instructors will provide coaching on the beginning flying techniques. First-time students are fitted with a safety belt and begin the session with a brief ground school led by the Trapeze School New York instructors. After learning the basic safety rules, practicing their take-off on the ground, and seeing a demonstration of their first trick – the knee hang – students will climb up the ladder and soon be flying through the air. Students are connected to safety lines from the time they step onto the first rung of the ladder until they roll out of the net and have both feet back on the ground. Only those taking part in the experience will be permitted in the venue. Cast members are subject to change. Does not include a ticket to the show.
